A bit about you:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
5+ years of experience in forensic structural engineering, failure analysis, or structural assessment
Strong knowledge of building codes, construction materials, and engineering principles
Experience with structural analysis software and finite element modeling is a plus
A bit about tasks:
Conduct in-depth investigations of structural failures, including building collapses, construction defects, and material degradation
Perform on-site inspections to assess the cause of failure or damage
Analyze design plans, construction methods, and materials for code and standard compliance
Provide expert evaluations for damage caused by natural disasters, fire, explosions, and more
Document findings through reports, drawings, and 3D models, presenting conclusions in an understandable format
Collaborate with legal teams, contractors, and insurance professionals to develop repair strategies
