Structural Engineer

A bit about you:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in MD, DC, VA, WV, and PA (or ability to obtain additional state licensure)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering with a strong understanding of structural behavior
Proficiency in national building and construction codes (ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS)
Field experience in assessing structural damage and failures
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience providing litigation support, including expert testimony, is a plus
A bit about tasks:
Conduct field assessments to document structural conditions and damage from natural (wind, water, fire, seismic activity, etc.) and human-induced factors
Analyze structural failures, identify causes, and recommend repair solutions
Review design drawings and project documentation for forensic investigations
Prepare detailed technical reports and liaise with clients, contractors, and code officials
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution
Travel occasionally on short notice to support investigations
